At school, I have participated in many fund raising events, open days and further education fairs. I regularly collect for Save the Children charity and have subsequently become a member. Extra curricular activities have incorporated drama productions of Grease, the promotion of the School production of West Side Story as part of my Marketing unit and a heavy involvement in the preparation and publishing of our year 11 yearbook. These were demanding tasks, which included budgeting our costs and materials to keep within a specific price limit. Although it was tough, I found it extremely satisfying, especially after seeing the final results. My AS Business course has given me an understanding of organisations as a whole, but experiences such as working on the Year book and duties in my part time job has allowed me to expand my knowledge and consciousness of such financial topics. My ICT skills have developed highly through doing Vocational A levels, which I feel is invaluable in the Business field. My communication skills have been enhanced through my part time employment with River Island. My promotion to weekend footwear manager is developing knowledge of financial record keeping, problem solving, meeting weekly sales targets and teamwork awareness, which I feel can be used and put into practice whilst studying my preferred degree course

From the age of seven I attended a Bury St Edmunds Gymnastics club and competed at County, Regional and National levels. The feeling that I got when I played a role within the team to gain the gold medal was amazing, equal to the feeling when I achieved an individual gold medal as the top National around competitor. The realisation of how important managing school work with a hobby which was not only physically demanding, but emotionally challenging has given me a understanding of how to be realistic, a skill which is valuable when planning certain business strategies

I believe that during my sixth form studies I have grown in both confidence and maturity, preparing me for the opportunity to study at university. 一、随身类

1、千万不要作弊

出国留学行李准备清单

1.材料准备

护照、毕业证、学位证、成绩单、公证双认证、2寸证件照(20张)

本科入学时需要向学校递交高中毕业证、会考成绩单及其公证双认证;

研究生入学时需要向学校递交本科毕业证、学士学位证、大学4年成绩单及其公证双认证。

2.准备现金

3.日用品

Since starting my National Diploma in Graphic Design, I feel I have had the opportunity and freedom to experiment and explore my ideas fully. I have been able to expand and develop my visual communication skills and I am now able to create more effective and convincing imagery. I feel I am investing much more of myself in my work and am exploring ideas, media and techniques in addition to my main programme of study.

I have a broad range of influences that I am inspired by. Music has always been a passion for me since an early age, from almost every genre. I still listen to most of the same bands I listened to when I was 8 years old, and I find music to be a big source of inspiration for my illustration work. I am always listening to music and I regularly attend underground gigs, getting inspired by the raw sound of unsigned acts. I also love film; from Film Noir and Japanese Horror, to big blockbuster's and thrillers.

Reading is another major influence. My favourite genre is Transgressive Fiction, which includes the work of author Chuck Palahnuik. I love how he portrays the horror of 'ordinary' life and his suspicion of the 'modern'. I am also interested in creative writing myself and recently successfully completed an evening class. This helped me build my confidence to read my work aloud to the rest of the group, who were all older than myself. It also helped me to give constructive criticism as well as apply it to my own work.

Other interests include photography; I am a big fan of Lomography. I take images with a Holga camera, using 120mm and 35mm rolls of film. I feel that I have much more of a connection with the final images than I do when using a digital camera. I am experimenting with various lenses such as fisheye, eight image lenses and a ring-flash and am taking these images in to Photoshop to develop them even further.

I also feel that I am very much influenced by my environment. Those around me have always inspired me the most; being able to see how a person works and chooses to communicate their designs, motivates me to work creatively too. I think that this has been the biggest factor in my decision to study at university level. I am looking to study on an exciting and open course with other creative and motivated people. I am looking for course that will help me explore and combine my different creative interests and support me in creating a professional portfolio of work.

I am a self motivated and broad minded. I am looking forward to moving away from home and gaining more independence. I am eager to meet like-minded people and I feel that I have the attitude, skills and enthusiasm to be successful at university and in becoming a professional designer/illustrator.

Literature and History are inseparably connected. I feel that my study of literature has emphasised my interest in the past as I find myself focusing on the period in which the authors wrote in as well as their lifestyles and possible literary influences. I find Thomas Hardy's The Mayor of Casterbridge enthralling, not only because of the multi- dimensional characters within but also, as so much of the events which occur in the novel are related to my current studies of the Industrial Revolution and how the changes taking place in that period affected the lives of so many.

I recently visited the Museum of Welsh Life and enjoyed absorbing the atmosphere of the heritage site and learning about the people who existed in the periods displayed at the museum.

Knowing where one is heading during navigation brings assured happiness. As a student majoring in Computer Software, I began my odyssey four years ago. My paces toward this goal are always steady. As mathematics permeates to the every corner of Computer Science, I am eager to see how it functions. I took courses offered by the Mathematics Department including Mathematical Analysis and Advanced Algebra. The curriculum also covered Discrete Mathematics, Probability & Statistics and Theoretical Computer Science. As supplement to my scope of knowledge, I learn by myself Combination Mathematics and the Science of Programming. This really made a hard period of time, but the harvest was rewarding. I come to understand that even the most irrelevant software disciplines have the origins in common. The importance of Fractured Geometry in Computer Graphics is already obvious. Of all the sub-areas of Computer Science, my major interest is parallel processing and the related compiler construction. The terminology of parallel processing came to me when I read an article about digital circuit testing. According to this article, there exist many serial approaches of solving the automatic test pattern generation (ATPG) problem. Though certain method of solving ATPG sometimes proved efficient, the computation time for a method of solving ATPG sometimes proved efficient, the computation time for a complete result is intolerable, the a parallel processing machine is proposed. Using paralleled ATPG method, this NP complete dilemma is ingeniously handled. After reading, I surprisingly realized that parallel processing opened a new window for the computationally intensive problems, which prove intractable for the VON NEUMANN Architecture. You can always first split a specific computational task into several independent divisions, then assign each part to a certain processor. With reasonable partition and proper synchronization, most grueling scientific applications can be reduced to normal scale problems.

With the advent of the multiprocessor architecture, compiler optimization faced a new challenge. A compiler not only has to translate, but it is also responsible for generating parallel-processing loop provides a rich opportunity of exploiting parallelism. Therefore, finding an optimum strategy for loops because a hot research topic. On the whole, parallelism changes our view toward the conventional computer architecture so that the compiler’s construction must make the corresponding modification. Because of this challenging characteristic, I choose them to be my interest of future study.

Yet parallel processing is far from maturity. It has been observed that some sequential algorithms can be easily translated into fast parallel algorithms while some others may not. Is every sequential computation can be done efficiently in parallel? If not, what properties result in such distinction? Another unsettled problem is programming parallel computers now is like programming serial computers in the 1960s. Programmers get locked into a particular manufacturer’s computers. Is it possible for us to design a higher level language for parallel computers that hides the underlying machine architecture from users? Both are crying out for solution.

Without advanced knowledge, I can do nothing but wait. In order to convert my undergraduate study into full play, graduate education is a necessity. From the college guide and my advisor’s recommendation, I am pleased to learn that your department has an academic atmosphere where originality is appreciated and individual potential is explored. 一、寄宿家庭
