English Language. To most, a simple form of interaction. To the world, the mother tongue of communication and business. For me, a passion and hopefully my future. Excited to be a part of the modern day lingua franca, I am intrigued by the importance and the complexity language holds. Complementing English Language, I perused Psychology and Media Studies at A-level. Comparing psychological theories was a great eye opener. Admittedly, I do not possess strong judgments with regards to evolution, nevertheless, I found studying the human mind and behaviour remarkable. I particularly enjoyed exploring the work of Noam Chomsky and Jean Piaget, these Psychologists have fuelled my appetite for teaching and child development.

Whilst studying the media syllabus, I became critically conscious of the persuasion to which we are all subjected too and found the power of the press phenomenal. I was fortunate enough to interview some familiar faces and I was able to apply my industry experience to my work. During this time I gathered valuable analytical and representation skills which supplemented my English Language coursework. In addition, I acquired journalistic practice by writing reviews for a student magazine. My proudest academic achievement came at key stage 4, where I attained a diploma for attending a ‘Gifted and Talented Workshop’. Responsible for my own group I designated roles for each, guiding them to victory and winning the holiday we had created.

So far in the world of work, I have had several positions in several different sectors. Some unchallenging and most unrewarding. Searching for the perfect post has been disheartening, making me more determined to spend my life in the right career. Lightening the mood, I have accumulated precious skills and discovered strengths in communication and team-work. Working solely on commission as a party organiser, my enthusiasm for the role enabled me to build a creditable client base and gain recognition through the company. My demonstrations incorporated both oral and visual promotion. Thus, public speaking, once an alien trait, is now my second nature; whether it be voicing my opinion or demonstrating a product. This attribute can only aid my capability of becoming a successful teacher of the English Language.

Pursuing a teenage trend of fame, fortune and footballers, I began glamour modelling simply on a whim. Far from cocksure, I was able to build my self-confidence and explore an industry masked in glamour. Being crowned ‘Miss South Yorkshire 20xx’ opened many doors and I subsequently graced the covers of celebrated magazines including ‘Nuts’ and ‘Exposed’. I soon established that underneath the glamour is a trivial world of demands and deadlines. A world, which enabled me to mature and question what it is exactly that I wish to achieve from life. Modelling, alongside media studies, spurred my ever increasing passion for photography, a hobby I find therapeutic at times. Nevertheless, I prefer reading and writing a thousand words than trying to capture them in a pixel. Being family oriented is primarily the reason I wish to remain in Sheffield to obtain a degree. Many of my friends have graduated via Hallam University and have recommended you with gratitude.

20xx年新加坡留学难度

高中：

中国学生不可以直接插班到新加坡高中初级学院留学，需在新加坡参加新加坡O水准考试，英文与另外五科成绩(L1R5)的积分为20分以下的学生，便可以选择进入初级学院修读高中课程。

中国学生年满15岁就可以参加新加坡O水准考试。新加坡O水准考试预备课程申请条件：存款证明16万人民币，不需要托福雅思，提供四份公证书、一份证明。

本科：

新加坡留学申请技巧

去新留学可以根据申请学校的不同大致分为两种：申请新加坡公立校和申请私立校。前者一般需要学生有较高的高考成绩(中新交换生除外)，而后者更多的需要资金支持。

At Peking University, dubbed the Harvard of China by President Clinton on his recent trip to Chins, I have been a student star on campus due to my outstanding academic performances. When I entered into this university in 1995, I already stood out among my crop of freshmen, having won a total of scores in the 1995 National College Entrance Examinations that was the fifth highest in Beijing. A fervent fan of my chosen subject of studies, I have proved myself as much of an intellectual wizard in higher learning as I was in grade school, as demonstrated by my grades, which placed me at the very top in my class of 23. My GPA in the first three years is 89.5, a rarely seen high grade in PKU. My GPA for core courses is over 90, far higher than that of my fellow students. I was the only one who received 100, the full mark, in two theoretical courses, the advanced mathematics and appreciation of fine arts. In practical courses like computer design, my grades were also high, sometimes as high as 96. In recognition of such stellar performances, I have been named the top student of the department and granted Academic Excellence Scholarships for three consecutive years. I was elected the Student Representative for Academic Affairs.

But I was no bookworm. To broaden my vision and enrich my knowledge, I also chose electives in such fields as Russian Literature and Chinese History. I have spent considerably more time in the library than my classmates. The more I learnt on campus, the more I hoped to see the real world outside the ivory tower. So in the first summer recess, I applied for a temporary job at the Yaxing Advertising Agency, affiliated with the China Sports Daily, when most of my friends and classmates were enjoying themselves at home or traveling around. My students, mostly six to twelve years old, had difficulties in understanding the aesthetics inherent Chinese calligraphy. To help them, I taught them Chinese poems and ancient characters instead of confining myself to only calligraphy. The approach turned out to be very effective, and their skills improved dramatically. In these and other similar experiences, I gained skills of interpersonal communication, particularly in terms of how to understand other people’s problems and how to help them out.

It is in my working experience that I first developed the desire to pursue advanced studies in a quality graduate program in the United States. As an intern with the Dentsu Young & Rubicam Advertising Corporation, one of the world’s largest communications groups, I now witness firsthand the dramatic social and economic changes engendered by the proliferation of digital technologies and increasing corporate globalization. These changes have created the highly sophisticated information society. As a better indicator of my practical language skills, I just finished translating an English book “The History of Graphic Design” into Chinese together with four other translators, including a professor. My writing, listening and oral English are as good as my reading.

This application is being made with a sense of mission. As an undergraduate, I have learned the basics of advertising, and I would be promising in China as a graduate from one of the country’s best universities. With a booming advertising industry in China, I will surely secure a well-paying job. But I cannot be satisfied unless I can help my country as much I help myself. For that, I wish to enhance my capabilities by pursuing graduate studies in such fields as mass communication, communication studies or media studies at a university in North America, where these genres of studies are much more developed than in China. Whatever program I get in, I would like my studies to be focused on the theories of and practices in advertising. 俄罗斯留学误区

一、教育落后

提起俄罗斯的教育，大家能够想到的知名大学，不会特别多，而且由于没有过多的宣传，所以导致不少学生认为，这里的教育水平很一般，不值得递交留学的申请，从而错过一个高性价比的目的地。

作为老牌的发达国家，俄罗斯在教育方面是有着自己独特的优势的，不管是传统专业，还是艺术商科等，都可以提供很不错的教学，留学生在这里，享受的是世界一流的优质教育。

二、经济落后

在经济方面，俄罗斯展示出来的，更多是在重工业方面的优势，在轻工业和服务业等方面，没有很大的优势，但是其经济的实力，是不能够小看的，要知道它也是10的经济体。

而且近几年对国内的经济进行转型发展，已经取得了不错的成就，相较于其提供的基础服务，这里的物价水平和留学成本，还是比较低的，大家不需要担心自己的正常学习和生活。

三、必须会俄语

俄语是俄罗斯的官方语言，所以大家留学理论上是需要提供合格的考核成绩的，但是如果大家选择的是英语授课的专业，那么理论上提交IELTS或者TOEFL的分数表就可以了。

而且目前英语在俄罗斯的普及率也是很高的，大家就算是只会英语，在日常的沟通中也不会有很大的困难，而进入硕士及更高阶段的学习，对英语的要求会更高。
